Joe Jefferson Players
The Joe Jefferson Players (JJP) was formed in 1947 and is the oldest continually-running theatrical group in Alabama.
Plays are performed in the Joe Jefferson Playhouse on South Carlen St.
JJP is named for Joe Jefferson who lived in Mobile as a teenager and as an actor in the 1800s was famous for playing Rip Van Winkle.
